On March 19, the Georgia Department of Public Health reported that 416 Bulloch County residents were administered a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. On Tuesday, only 27 county residents received their first shot.
In fact, after averaging about 150 per day, not including Sundays, from Jan. 4 to the March 19 high water-mark, Bulloch has topped 100 vaccines given in a single day only once since March 26. Vaccine shots have decreased also in the face of the state making everyone older than 16 eligible for a vaccine on March 15.

Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan announced this week he will celebrate College and Career Academies across Georgia by hosting an awards ceremony at the State Capitol on April 22.
Surrounded by educators, students and business leaders, Duncan will congratulate the award winners and recognize the significant impact of College and Career Academies throughout Georgia.
“Since the inception of the program, our Georgia College and Career Academies have served as a powerful education reform initiative focused on workforce and economic development,” said Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan. “It is an honor to celebrate the hard work and achievements of those associated with this great program. I look forward to continuing to champion the administrations, students, and community members who devote their time, resources and expertise to our College and Career Academies.”

More than 60 Ogeechee Technical College faculty, staff, students and family members received COVID-19 vaccinations Tuesday during a college sponsored clinic in the Oak Room at the Natural Resources Building on campus.
Ogeechee Tech partnered with Ben Ross of Forest Heights Pharmacy to administer the Moderna vaccine doses to the OTC community. Second doses will be administered May 4.
“Conversations about hosting an on-site internal clinic began last fall,” said Felicia Barefoot, Ogeechee Tech’s Exposure Control Coordinator.
