One person’s trash is another person’s artwork. For Earth Day, Oak Grove Elementary kindergarten students recycled and repurposed unwanted items into their very own Litter Bugs.
The Litter Bug project is an Earth Day STEM activity focused on conservation where students use recycled materials to create a piece of art. After creating the Litter Bugs at home, students presented them to their class and discussed what items they reused for their creations.
Earth Day is a perfect time to bring the Litter Bugs to life as spring is when bugs start buzzing about.

CHICAGO - Two Chicago-based professors were caught gushing about teaching social justice in the classroom during a school board meeting held via Zoom in February.
Roosevelt University Professors Ralph Martire and Gina Harris, who also serve on the Oak Park and River Forest High School school board, discussed using social justice to organize society, as local publication West Cook News first reported this week. I mean, it s all social justice. All day, every day I get to talk about all the things I love, Harris told Martire during the recorded meeting after he inquired about her new position at the university an adjunct professor of Educator Preparation, specializing in racial equity and middle school teaching, according to her LinkedIn profile.
