Another Oak Ridge Schools staff member has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a Monday letter from Oak Ridge Schools Superintendent Bruce Borchers sent out to families of students and staff. The employee was last at the school on Friday, Jan. 22.
All individuals who had potential close contact have been notified so they can quarantine in accordance with Tennessee Department of Health Guidelines.
Borchers said as of the time of that letter 0.57% of Oak Ridge Schools staff and 0.23% of Oak Ridge Schools students had active COVID-19 cases and all parties were isolated at home. The highest percentage of positive student cases was at Linden Elementary School with 0.55% while several schools including Oak Ridge Schools Preschool, Woodland Elementary and Jefferson and Robertsville middle schools had no currently active student cases.

Three more Anderson County residents a total of 38 have died of COVID-19, according to the latest update to the Tennessee Department of Health website.
In addition to the new deaths, the website showed that as of Thursday there are 509 active cases in the county, compared to 531 on Monday.
Thirty-six Roane County residents have died of COVID-19 since the pandemic began with the latest death reported on the Tennessee Department of Health website Wednesday afternoon. No additional deaths were reported in Thursday’s update.
Thursday’s update showed that there are 344 active cases in Roane County, compared to 226 listed Monday.
