Massena International Airport receives $1 8 million for apron rehabilitation

Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, both D-N.Y., had announced on May 21 that the Massena International Airport was one of several Upstate New York airports to receive a portion of $21,197,296 in Federal Aviation Administration funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The airport received $98,900 to construct, rehabilitate, modify and expand the airport’s sand and chemical storage building.

Massena, Ogdensburg airports eligible for funding from $250M pool of taxpayer money

Wednesday, May 26, 2021 - 5:58 am MASSENA Massena International Airport at Richards Field and Ogdensburg International Airport are both listed by the state as being eligible to apply for funding from a $250 million pool of state taxpayer money to modernize their operations. According to a press release from the governor’s office, $250 million is available to transform and modernize airports in Upstate New York and foster regional economic development. The fund includes $230 million through a new Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Competition for projects that promote and accelerate improvements at upstate commercial passenger service airports. Another $20 million will be allocated through the state’s Aviation Capital Grant Program to support safety, infrastructure, and economic development projects at smaller airports.
