Oklahoma players receive All-Big 12 recognition
Madi Williams makes first team and Taylor Robertson second, but Gabby Gregory was snubbed for all-conference accolades

Madi Williams was named first-team All-Big 12 Conference on Wednesday.
Williams, a 6-foot junior from Fort Worth, leads the Sooners at 19.9 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game this season while shooting 49.5 percent from the field.

Williams has helped guide OU to a 12-11 record (9-9 in Big 12 play) with remarkable consistency. In conference-only games, she averages 19.8 points and 5.2 rebounds and shoots .489.
Williams set the school scoring record this season when she poured in 45 points, breaking the OU mark of 43 set by Courtney Paris. It remains the fourth-highest figure in women s college basketball this season.

Taylor Robertson 22 as Oklahoma beat Kansas State 90-81 in the Sooners’ season finale Sunday at Lloyd Noble Center.
OU finished the regular season with a winning record (12-11 overall, 9-8 Big 12 Conference) despite playing more than half their games with just six or seven available players during a pandemic.

AUSTIN, TX After trailing by as many as 12 in the fourth quarter and with their leading scorers in foul trouble, Oklahoma rallied to force overtime.
That’s where things got really interesting.
OU scored the game’s last eight points for a 68-63 victory at Texas the Sooners’ first win at Frank Erwin Center since 2013.

In an interview with The Spun, former Texas Longhorns defensive tackle Ta’Quon Graham said he and teammates were caught off guard by the firing of former head coach Tom Herman, who was replaced by Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian.
“I guess it kinda capped off everything from this season,” Graham said of Herman’s unanticipated firing late last year, per The Spun. “First off all, we were disappointed we didn’t get to win the Big 12 Championship. It hurt when I saw it on the news because that’s not something we expected to happen. There were talks about it, but we didn’t think they would do that this year, especially due to COVID-19 and how tough this year was. It was just a hard situation for us players, and it was something we were disappointed by.”
