The Oklahoma City-County Health Department reopened its northeast clinic for back-to-school vaccinations.The local health department has three clinics. But just a few months ago, the northeast and south clinics were closed so staff members could help with the county s large COVID-19 vaccination effort. We started testing at the fairgrounds and then moved into nursing homes. And then, we moved our testing operations to the clinic settings, said Stacee Hoye, the clinical administrator with the Oklahoma City-County Health Department.Now that the demand for vaccines has scaled down, health department staff members can return to the health clinics. We re getting back to the way things used to be, Hoye said.This is all an effort to get children their back-t0-school immunizations. We want to address the back-to-school need, Hoye said.
