OCCHD COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments Filled Within 3 Minutes

By: Clayton Cummins OKLAHOMA CITY - About three minutes is all it took for the public to book over 1,000 appointments online to receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.  The Oklahoma City-County Health Department (OCCHD) announced at 9 a.m. Tuesday, those 65 years old and older could begin booking appointments.  The vaccines are scheduled to be distributed to those with appointments at Mercy Hospital on Thursday beginning at 8 a.m.  At 8:58 a.m. on Tuesday, Caitlyn Tyler visited the Oklahoma City-County Health Department’s website trying to get a vaccine appointment for her parents. It would be a success, or so she thought.

OSDH Vaccine Registration Portal Goes Live

Wednesday, January 6th 2021, 7:01 am By: News 9 The state health department s portal to register for a COVID-19 vaccine is up and running online. When users arrive at the portal home screen, there is a rundown of questions each person is expected to answer. The information helps determine where they fall in the vaccination order.  Once the questionnaire is begun, users will answer several questions including if you re a long-term care resident or worker, or if you re a health care worker on the front line. The next page of questions includes if the person is 65-years-old or older, a first responder, a teacher, or if you have comorbidities.

OCCHD Prepares For First COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic

Slots are full for Thursday s COVID-19 vaccine clinic through the Oklahoma City County Health Department. The OCCHD is asking those that don t have an appointment to not show up. OCCHD told News 9 anyone who secured a spot should have gotten an email confirming your appointment with instructions. When you show up you to have an ID with your date of birth because this clinic is specifically for people 65-years-old and up.  If you are not the right age, they will turn you away and give that vaccine to a healthcare worker. It will be up to Mercy who is allowed into the hospital, even if it s just to assist someone getting the vaccine.
