Updated: 11:11 AM CDT Apr 15, 2021 KOCO Staff The Oklahoma State Department of Health on Thursday reported 302 new COVID-19 cases across the state, bringing the total cumulative number of the state’s positive cases to 444,590.According to the health department, 314 is Thursday’s 7-day rolling average for the number of new cases reported.Thursday’s total provisional death count, according to the CDC/NCHS, stands at 8,114; that’s 21 more compared to the previous day’s update. The health department announced that they’ve changed the way they report COVID-19 deaths in an effort to show a “more timely” picture of the disease’s impact in Oklahoma. Indian Health Service pauses Johnson & Johnson vaccine Follow Us Question of the Day By KEN MILLER - Associated Press - Wednesday, April 14, 2021 OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Indian Health Service is pausing its use of the Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine in Oklahoma and all other regions at the recommendation of the Food and Drug Administration. “Out of an abundance of caution, IHS has paused all Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine administration as they review data involving six reported U.S. cases of a rare and severe type of blood clot in individuals receiving the vaccine,” the IHS said Tuesday in a news release.
