The Higher Learning Commission Approves Panhandle State’s Reaffirmation of Accreditation Panhandle State Communications on 02/03/2021
Oklahoma Panhandle State University has been notified that the Higher Learning Commission has approved OPSU’s Reaffirmation of Accreditation for the next ten years on the Open Pathway for Accreditation. The Higher Learning Commission is one of six regional accreditors of degree-granting institutions, covering 19 states.
One of three options to maintain accreditation, the Open Pathway, allows institutions to design and implement Quality Initiatives to develop strategies and processes for continued further improvement.
OPSU’s comprehensive evaluation and self-study was completed in October, when peer evaluators from across the country representing HLC evaluated the university and affirmed that OPSU had met HLC’s criteria for accreditation.
Director of Financial Aid, Erin Moore, Delivers Excellent Student Services Panhandle State Communications on 02/02/2021
For our students at Oklahoma Panhandle State University, financial aid is one of the first departments they visit. Erin Moore, originally from Biloxi, Mississippi, has served as the Director of Financial Aid since June 2019. She has been a part of the Panhandle State family since 2018 when she started as the Assistant Director for Financial Aid.
In addition to the regular load of federal student aid programs, Erin has taken on the student CARES grant funding. This involves processing the student applications and disbursement for qualifying students and the required reporting for the CARES grant funding.
Panhandle State Education Students Start Student Teaching This Spring Panhandle State Communications on 01/28/2021
The College of Arts and Education at Oklahoma Panhandle State University is excited for the Spring 2021 student teachers. These students will be teaching in Oklahoma, Texas, and Colorado.
Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Brad Duren stated, The Teacher Education department at OPSU plays an essential role in providing competent, caring, and committed professional educators to schools throughout the region. This group of student interns represent those standards well, and I am confident they will excel in their student teaching experiences. Their commitment to their craft is a reflection of our outstanding Teacher Education faculty, who model standards of excellence in all they do.

Campus housing will be available to students who need or choose to stay on campus during this time. Students remaining in campus residential housing should report their situation to Ms. Amber Glass, Dean of Students, studentservices@opsu.edu. OPSU s regular food services will remain available.
International travel for personal reasons is strongly discouraged. If international
travel is necessary, please refer to guidance from the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC), U.S. Department of State and U.S. Customs and Border
Protection for specific port-of-entry screening processes, as well as any travel
restrictions.
