The case against a Pontiac woman charged in the stabbing of her boyfriend has been bound over to Oakland County Circuit Court.
On Thursday, 50th District Judge Ronda Fowlkes Gross said there was probable cause to advance the case against Lakeeda Malone, 36, for the Aug. 15 incident at a home in the 20 block of Collingwood Street in Pontiac. Malone is facing one count each of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder with an alternative charge of felonious assault, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Malone was arrested the day of the incident after taking her 8-year-old daughter to McLaren-Oakland Hospitalâs emergency room for treatment of a stab wound that she reportedly received while trying to stop her mother during the assault. The boyfriend, age 29, was also treated at the hospital.
The Honorable Alice Lee Gilbert, most recently of Bloomfield Township, died Dec. 9. She was 88.
Her prolific and storied career was launched when she graduated from law school in 1956 as one of just two women in a class of 124. The next several decades would see Judge Gilbert as a woman of many âfirsts.â Among them, first female judge elected to Oakland County Circuit Court â which also made her the first female to hold a county-wide position for Oakland  â first female member of the Oakland County Bar Association, and first judge in Michigan to utilize and implement computer technology for court administration, in 1969. She was also a founding member of the Michigan Chapter of National Organization of Woman and the Oakland County Womenâs Bar Association.

The Oakland County Sheriffâs Office is investigating a report of a vehicle stolen as it was being warmed up on a street, which was later found after being stripped.
Deputies were called to a home in the 100 block of West Rundell Street just after 6 a.m. Friday by a woman who said she was sitting nearby in another car with her boyfriend while warming up the tan-colored Hummer. Her boyfriend reported seeing a taller, thinly-built man get into the vehicle, which was unlocked, and drive away, the sheriffâs office said.
Approximately three hours later, the vehicle was found abandoned at the Links of Crystal Lake golf club, 800 Golf Drive in Pontiac. It had been driven through a fence and appeared to have been stripped, the sheriffâs office said.
