The incident began at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 10 when officers from the Ferndale Police Department went to a home in Royal Oak in the 3300 block of Cummings Avenue to interview the man because he was a suspect in a criminal sexual conduct case. Ferndale Police Community Engagement Officer Jill Mahlmeister stated that officers were unable to contact the man when they arrived at the home.

(WXYZ) — A Madison Heights man is in facing several charges after allegedly stabbing his mother and stepfather during an argument on Friday, Dec. 11. Christopher McKinney, 28, was living with his 66-year-old mother and 71-year-old stepfather when the incident occurred. There was an argument and McKinney allegedly produced a knife and stabbed his parents, police say. The mother and stepfather were treated on the scene then taken to a local hospital. The stepfather has since died from his wounds.

Photo provided by Susan Arlin Advertisement On Dec. 11, Farmington lost a beloved community member.  Derek Westbrook, 49, died at the scene after being struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of CVS Pharmacy, 23391 Farmington Road.  According to a press release, the preliminary investigation found that a 25-year-old Farmington woman backing out of a parking spot at the pharmacy placed her foot on the accelerator instead of the brake. 

Suspected drunk driver hits state trooper s patrol car in Pontiac | Cops and Courts

Charges are expected for a driver who authorities say was drunk when he crashed his vehicle into a Michigan State Police trooper’s patrol car in Pontiac on Sunday. According to MSP, it was at approximately 1:30 a.m. when the trooper attempted to stop a driver for a traffic violation on County Center Drive and Pontiac Lake Road. The driver stopped his car in the middle of the intersection, police said, and then started to back up and struck the patrol car. The trooper reportedly determined the driver was impaired, with a blood alcohol content measured at .13 percent. He was lodged in the Oakland County Jail.
