Homicide not suspected in death of woman found in Southfield motel room
The Oakland County Medical Examiner s Office conducted an autopsy, they said. It was determined that the woman died as result of suicide, officials said in a statement. This correlates with the evidence presented to officers and detectives on scene.
They also said they are not releasing the identity of the woman pending notification of the next of kin.
Her body was found Monday at the Red Roof Inn located at 27660 Northwestern Highway near Interstate 696 after motel employees entered a room to investigate a foul odor, according to authorities.

TROY Troy police are investigating a homicide discovered during the early morning Feb. 15 at the front entrance of Belle Tire, 4966 Rochester Road.
Employees arriving to work at around 7 a.m. found a man lying unresponsive in front of the building and called it in.
“Yesterday we had maybe an inch or two of fresh snow on the ground, and you’ve got employees that are just arriving. Troy Police investigate after a man s body was found outside of Belle Tire Monday morning.
TROY, Mich. (FOX 2) - Troy Police said they are investigating after a man s body was found outside of Belle Tire around 7 a.m. on Monday as employees arrived for work.
Police told FOX 2 they were called to Belle Tire to a non-responsive man who was found by the front door as employees arrived to start working Monday morning.
Troy Police said the man in his 30s was dead when they arrived and are unsure how long he was laying outside the building but was covered in snow.
