PONTIAC, Mich. – The Alliance of Coalitions for Healthy Communities is taking its Narcan training curbside to combat the rise in overdose deaths.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 81,000 drug overdose deaths occurred in the United States in the 12-month period ending May 2020. The CDC said it is the highest number of overdose deaths in a year.
To help combat this issue, the Alliance of Coalitions for Healthy Communities pivoted to provide virtual Narcan training and starting Friday, it is also offering drive up training.
The final weekend of the Hollydazzle is here, and you still have until Sunday, Jan. 2, to experience the fun.
The Hollydazzle light show is a three-quarter mile long celebration of Christmas, winter, and the holiday season, with more than a dozen lighted scenes.
These include Santa Clause, the sledding penguins, and a candy-land castle.

MARQUETTE The Upper Peninsula is one of two pilot regions selected for the Michigan Crisis and Access Line, which will be available for anyone who needs behavioral health or crisis response services, according to a Michigan Department of Health and Human Services news release.
The target implementation for MiCAL is late April in two pilot regions. MDHHS officials estimate the pilot will last four months after which MiCAL will be successively rolled out to the entire state. The Upper Peninsula region will led by NorthCare Network and the Oakland County region will be led by Oakland Community Health Network.
