The Special Task Force of the Odisha Crime Branch police has busted an organised racket involved in the theft of cargos in Cuttack district.
A heap of such illegally unloaded low ash metallurgical (LAM) coke weighing about 32 metric tonnes, nine trucks loaded with coke, one earth moving vehicle, some resealed and repacking materials and incriminating materials were seized from the culprits at the spot.
The drug peddlers have been identified and will be arrested soon, police said.
Rayagada:
The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police seized at least 2,000 kg of ganja in Rayagada.
As per a statement, this is the biggest seizure ever of ganja for the STF and one of the biggest seizure of the state in recent time.
A raid was conducted on the basis of intelligence input at State Highway 5 near Tikarpada Harijan Sahi in the Muniguda area.

Over 1.5 crore worth ganja seized from two separate places of Odisha Post News Network
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police Wednesday busted a ganja smuggling gang at two different places in the state. The cannabis, worth more than Rs. 1.5 crore, was seized and three persons were arrested in this connection.
Cannabis weighing around 2 tonnes and worth around Rs 1 crore has been seized from a truck near Muniguda in Rayagada district, informed the Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha Crime Branch, Wednesday.
The contraband was being smuggled to Kantamal in the vehicle. However, the driver and helper of the truck managed to flee the spot.
Main accused in Pari murder case, Saroj Sethy recreates crime scene for police Post News Network
Nayagarh: The special investigation team (SIT) probing the death of minor Pari in Nayagarh district, brought Thursday prime accused Saroj Sethy to Jadupur village for reconstruction of the crime scene.
The accused was taken to the pond where the skeletal remains of the five-year-old girl were found. There Saroj demonstrated how he had disposed off the body after murdering the minor. SIT chief Arun Bothra was also present at the spot and he sought details from saroj.
Bothra told mediapersons, the one of Saroj’s family members was aware of the crime committed by the accused. Efforts are on to find out that person.
Pari Case: SIT Takes Accused To Jadupur, Recreates Scene 73
Nayagarh: In another major development in the Nayagarh minor girl (Pari) murder case, the SIT took the prime accused to the spot in Jadupur village here and recreated the scene along with the demo.
On the other hand, the SIT chief Arun Bothra has revealed that the towel, which prime accused Saroj Sethi used to clean blood stains after killing the 5-year-old, has been sent to lab for testing.
As per available information, the accused had washed the towel several times but bloodstains were found.
“The towel & leggings are major evidence in the case,” stated the SIT Chief.
