Syracuse, N.Y. The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office’s annual “Heroes & Helpers” gift giveaway looked a little different this year, but that didn’t stop the department from spreading a little Christmas cheer.
In past years, sheriff’s deputies, along with other Central New York fire and police departments, partnered with children on a holiday shopping spree at Target.
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, there was no in-person shopping spree. Instead, children gave deputies wish lists in advance, who shopped for the gifts over the last few weeks.
