Summit discusses latest regulations n GCC pharmaceuticals sector
Dubai, UAE, 1 hours, 31 minutes ago Government authorities in the Gulf region and leading healthcare solutions providers came together at the sixth GCC Regulatory Affairs Pharma Summit recently to discuss regulations and best practices relating to drug registration and approvals in the region. The two-day virtual summit supported by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention was aimed to showcase new developments in the pharmaceuticals sector in GCC as well as their impact on improving patient access to medicines. Over 300 professionals from public health authorities and the pharmaceutical supply chain attended the summit in which 50 regional and international experts shared insights on topics relevant to regulatory affairs, legal and compliance aspects of drug registration and approvals.

Muscat: In a new move, Oman’s Ministry of Health has started providing home-visit services to those in the target group for COVID-19 vaccinations. MoH representatives visited those who had enrolled in the community health programme, as the Directorate of Health Services prepared an integrated plan to ensure the complete vaccination of the target group.
Two days earlier Dr Ahmed bin Mohammad Al Saeedi, Minister of Health, in a meeting that he chaired at Ministry of Health, to discuss the vaccination campaign against COVID-19, affirmed that the Sultanate is among the countries most keen to choose effective and safe vaccines.
Muscat: A recent Omani survey, with over 1,500 respondents including residents and citizens, shows that 30 per cent of them suffered from symptoms of anxiety, depression and sleep disturbances due to the prevailing pandemic situation.
The survey also revealed that women are “the most” among those who have suffered from depression due to Corona, Oman News Agency reported.
In an interview with the Oman News Agency, Dr Hamad bin Nasser Al Senawi, a senior consultant at the Behavioural Medicine Department at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, said that the COVID-19 virus has led to the emergence of cases due to frustration and psychological burnout.
