Oregon is now averaging 840 cases a day, up 57% over two weeks. Active hospitalizations climbed again, to 328, up 66% over the past two weeks. Both aren’t projected to decline until May.
With Oregon’s trajectory an outlier nationally, Brown announced indoor dining closures for 15 counties, including Multnomah and Clackamas, effective Friday. Gyms and theaters also will face strict capacity restrictions.
The restrictions will last a maximum of three weeks for affected counties, according to Brown’s office. State officials will evaluate data each week to determine if impacted counties can ease restrictions or if Oregon’s remaining 21 counties need to implement stronger limits.
