There are eight new COVID-19 related deaths in Oregon, raising the state’s death toll to 2,522.
Oregon Health Authority reported 844 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 189,986.
The number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 324, which is four fewer than Thursday. There are 90 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit (ICU) beds, which is unchanged from Thursday.
The total number of COVID-19 positive patient bed-days in the most recent seven days is 2,354, which is a 5.5% increase from the previous seven days. The peak daily number of beds occupied by COVID-19 positive patients in the most recent seven days is 351.

After eight deaths announced today, the state s toll is 2,522. The toll for confirmed and presumptive cases is 189,986 after 844 were reported today.
Today, Dr. Dean Sidelinger, State Health Officer and State Epidemiologist recorded a brief video update of the COVID-19 situation in Oregon, including emerging variants that are more virulent.
Vaccinations in Oregon
Today, OHA reported that 54,747 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of this total, 31,750 doses were administered on May 6 and 22,987 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on May 6.
