Gov. Brown issues executive order on price gouging due to storm KATU Staff © Provided by KATU Portland Gov. Kate Brown declared an abnormal market disruption Tuesday because of the severe weather in nine Oregon counties. That means the state now has the power to investigate claims of price gouging. Brown said she hopes the executive order sends a clear message to businesses not to raise the price of hotel rooms or goods and services because of increased demand. The governor says this executive order is in addition to the abnormal market disruption declaration due to the pandemic and wildfires. Those orders are still in effect.
