Oregon county files pot tax complaint By Associated Press Share: BEND, Ore. (AP) A county in Oregon has filed a complaint against the state over marijuana tax revenue the county says it should be paid, despite its moratorium on marijuana facilities. Deschutes County’s legal department filed a complaint in state tax court against the Oregon Department of Revenue, the Oregon Liquor Control Commission and Department of Administrative Services, The Bulletin reported. Marijuana tax revenue has not been paid to the county since the Deschutes County Commission placed a moratorium on approving new marijuana processing and producing facilities in August 2019.

Oregon Considers New Safety System After Cannabis Vape Products Recall

/ Oregon regulators are considering new rules on vape ingredients and asking for a voluntary recall of certain products. Oregon wants some cannabis vape manufacturers to recall products that might cause lung injuries. The Oregon Liquor Control Commission is asking for a voluntary recall of two potential cannabis vape ingredients: squalene and squalane. They’re derived from olives and have been used to dilute the liquid that goes into vape pens so it can easily vaporize. The agency said the ingredients have been linked with Vitamin E acetate and the safety problems that put thousands of vapers in the hospital with lung damage last year.

Following months of pressure from restaurant industry advocacy groups, the Oregon legislature is scheduled consider allowing bars and restaurants to sell cocktails to-go.  A bill proposed for next week s special session of the legislature would requires mixed drinks be sold in sealed containers for off-premises consumption and includes special rules regarding delivery of alcoholic beverages by third-party delivery services.
