Three in custody following search

POMEROY Three people were taken into custody after a search warrant was executed at a residence in Pomeroy on Tuesday night.
In a news release, Sheriff Keith Wood stated that on Feb. 9, in the late evening hours the Gallia-Meigs Major Crimes Task Force while working in conjunction with deputies from the sheriff’s office and officers with the Pomeroy Police Department, executed a search warrant at 416 Spring Avenue in the Village of Pomeroy.
“The search warrant comes after an in-depth investigation into drug trafficking in the Spring Avenue area of Pomeroy. Seized from the residence was a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine, prescription drugs, cash, and drug paraphernalia,” stated the release.

BELPRE Nine people were arrested on multiple charges and methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl were recovered by city, county and state law enforcement officers Tuesday in Belpre.
The actions were the result of an investigation by the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission and Washington Monroe Morgan Noble Major Crimes Task Force, whose agents executed a trio of search warrants with the help of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team and the Belpre Police Department.
“Our department’s … been watching all three locations for about six months,” Belpre Police Chief Terry Williams said. “They were all intertwined.”
Central Ohio human trafficking operation rescues 8 Yost COLUMBUS – Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones have announced the results of a recent human trafficking operation.

14 arrested in Ohio human trafficking sting
Fourteen men were arrested during a single-day human trafficking operation that targeted individuals allegedly seeking to buy sex via the internet, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Liberty Township Police Chief Toby Meloro announced Monday.
The operation, which took place on Sunday, was conducted by the Liberty Township Police Department in cooperation with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, a task force under the attorney general’s Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission.
