Senator-elect Cynthia Lummis has joined with the rest of Wyomingâs D.C. delegation in recognizing Joe Biden as the president-elect, but remains supportive of President Donald Trumpâs efforts to challenge the results of the popular vote in swing states narrowly won by Biden.
In a statement to the Star-Tribune, the Republican said she â like Wyoming Sens. John Barrasso and Mike Enzi and Rep. Liz Cheney â would respect Mondayâs vote by the Electoral College certifying Biden as the president-elect.
âSome states clearly have a lot of work to do to clean up their elections but the Electoral College is above the fray that played out in certain states,â she said. âThe Electoral College works, just as Americaâs founders intended. It is on those states to fix their election process and mend the national confidence in the integrity of our elections.â
