Joiner, 42, Fink Road, Kensington, is charged with murder, an unclassified felony, and faces 15 years to life in prison if convicted.

Murder in Maple Heights-Davon Townsend Accused Of Killing Christian Merritt

Davon Townsend (Booking photo by Mayfield Heights Police) MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, OH - On Thursday 4/1/21 at 10:39 p.m., Mayfield Heights officers were dispatched to 6509 Marsol Rd (The Drake Apartments) on a report of an unwanted guest. Prior to officers arrival, we received numerous reports of gunshots being fired at the location. Officers arrived on scene and found a deceased male, identified as 29 year old Christian Merritt from Maple Heights. Davon Townsend, a 21 year old Cleveland resident, is currently in custody on a murder charge. This incident remains an ongoing investigation with the assistance of The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

news@tribtoday.com WARREN Police are continuing to investigate the Feb. 28 shooting death of 89-year-old Ruth Lewis at a Starlite Drive NW home. No new information on the investigation was released Tuesday, but on Monday, police posted information on Facebook that a “person of interest” in the shooting has been arrested and is being held on unrelated charges. Officers, according to the Facebook post, are working with the prosecutor’s office in filing charges, pending the receipt of laboratory results from Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations. BCI is part of the Ohio Attorney General’s office. Assistant Trumbull County Prosecutor Chris Becker said his office does not use the term “person of interest.”
