Quade Cummins learned he was the first Sooner in 16 years to make the Walker Cup team, he actually had to tap the brakes emotionally.
He said shortly after OU finished a disappointing third at the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, FL, in mid-February, he learned he had missed a call from USGA president
Stu Francis.
“I called him back when I was finished signing my scorecard and stuff like that,” Cummins said during a video press conference Tuesday. “He said, ‘Congratulations, you re going to represent the United States at the Walker Cup.’ Immediately I was in shock.

NORMAN Three Oklahoma pitchers combined for a perfect game the Sooners second of the season and OU mashed six home runs in a 17-0 victory over Sam Houston State.
The No. 1-ranked Sooners improved to 17-0 with four wins (including three more run-rules) at the Courtyard Marriott Tournament at Marita Hynes Field.
Tiare Jennings, Jocelyn Alo, Grace Lyons and
Mackenzie Donihoo all hit home runs for the Sooners as did freshmen
Paige Knight and Zaida Puni, who each hit their first career home runs in an OU uniform.
Alo’s team-leading 13th bomb extended her hitting streak to 31 games. Jennings hit her 11th, Lyons her eighth and Donihoo her third.
Oklahoma takes down K-State in season finale
Sooners finish with a winning record as they head to Kansas City for the Big 12 Conference Tournament next week

Taylor Robertson 22 as Oklahoma beat Kansas State 90-81 in the Sooners’ season finale Sunday at Lloyd Noble Center.
OU finished the regular season with a winning record (12-11 overall, 9-8 Big 12 Conference) despite playing more than half their games with just six or seven available players during a pandemic.

Finishing with 124 team points at the Big 12 Wrestling Championships, the Sooners earned their 24th conference title after being crowned Co-Champions alongside Oklahoma State

An historic weekend at the BOK Center in Tulsa saw the Oklahoma Sooners wrestling team crowned Co-Big 12 Champions, tying the Oklahoma State Cowboys with 124 team points at the Big 12 Championships.
The Sooners earned conference title No. 24, and clinched their first team title since 2002.
