Lake Land College Hosts Virtual Student Recognition Event

Effingham, IL / Effingham Radio May 11, 2021 | 2:21 PM Mattoon, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Lake Land College held a virtual Student Recognition Event via Zoom April 28 to recognize several students for their achievements in the classroom and beyond. Interim Director of Student Life Dave Seiler hosted the event with faculty and staff offering praise for the outstanding student leaders. Lake Land College President Josh Bullock began the event with a few words of congratulations and appreciation to the students. “The strength in Lake Land College truly lies in our students,” Bullock said in his remarks. “It lies in the quality and commitment of our students to their educational journey and their learning process.”

Outstanding Students Recognized During Honors Day Ceremony 4 hours ago • May 5, 2021 By Larry Isch Posted in About University of the Ozarks administrators and faculty presented the University’s top academic and division awards during the 64 th annual Honors Day ceremony, held Wednesday afternoon via Zoom. Petron Brown, a theatre and environmental studies major from Nassau, The Bahamas, was the recipient of the 2021 Wiley Lin Hurie Memorial Award, presented to the outstanding senior in the graduating class as voted on by the faculty. The Hurie Award is named in honor of the long-time president of the University and is the highest honor given to an Ozarks student. Brown was also named the Outstanding Student in Theatre.

Valdosta State University VALDOSTA, Ga. — Daniela Reyes Escalona of Moultrie, Georgia, is the recipient of the 2021 Annie Powe Hopper Award and the Outstanding Student in Business Award at Valdosta State University. Winning these awards has been my biggest pride during my VSU experience, she said. I was beyond thrilled to share the news with my family, friends, and professors and grateful I had the opportunity to make them proud. These awards are very meaningful to me because they give me the opportunity to represent my family and friends, as well as the Latin community here at VSU.
