Oprah Winfrey s explosive TV chat with the Duke & Duchess of Sussex has scored an Emmy nomination.
Oprah with Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special earned a nod for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special on Tuesday. The TV special, which debuted in the U.S. in March, stirred up a storm of controversy when Duchess Megan told Oprah she was refused access to mental health help as she struggled with a media attack from the British tabloids, and accused members of the British royal family of making racist remarks about the colour of her son s skin.
Prince Harry’s wife, who is of mixed race, also told Winfrey she contemplated suicide at one particularly low point, as she became the target of vicious tabloid attacks.
Meanwhile, Harry told the TV titan he felt “really let down” by his father, Prince Charles, revealing that the heir to the throne had refused to take his phone calls.
