(WCSC) - The Coast Guard assisted three people Friday who were aboard a sailboat taking on water off the Charleston coast. A Coast Guard Air Facility Charleston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew arrived on scene 37 miles southeast of Charleston and lowered a dewatering pump to the 42-foot sailing vessel, Tybee III, crew to keep their sailing vessel afloat, a release from the Coast Guard states.

(WCSC) - The Coast Guard Cutter James and crew returned to Charleston Friday after spending 52 days working to disrupt drug trafficking in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Before its return, the James crew made a stop in Port Everglades, Florida, to drop off the drugs and contriband the crew intercepted during the mission. During that process, the James offloaded nearly 32,000 pounds of cocaine and marijuana, worth an estimated $365 million.
