To date, there have been five Pirates of the Caribbean movies, with the original trilogy being directed by Gore Verbinski. Now the 56-year-old has opened up on the intense filmmaking journey which began with big doubts surrounding first movie The Curse of the Black Pearl and Johnny Depp’s Oscar-nominated performance as Jack Sparrow. While the original’s success led to the director living in “survival mode”, as he raced to meet the back-to-back sequels’ release dates even before the scripts had been written.

The official synopsis reads: The real-life pirates of the Caribbean violently plunder the world s riches and form a surprisingly egalitarian republic in this documentary series. The series features the real lives of legendary pirates Blackbeard, Henry Jennings, and Henry Vane. In addition, the series also squeezes in the story of female pirate Anne Bonny. World Screen also provides context for the series. The end of the war with Spain left British privateers, who worked as a freelance Naval force, out of work, it reads. Turning to piracy, they continued to take the treasure from the Spanish and were ultimately outlawed by their own crown. They went on to set up the world’s first fully democratic republic in the Bahamas, freed the enslaved, and gave them full voting rights.

They wrote Heard “gained a little weight before the commencement of the shoot and the makers are not keen on continuing to work with her”.
Website Sausage Roll added: “Amber Heard did not pass her physical examination.
“She’s put on some pounds and is in terrible shape. There is a clause in her contract which says she is required to be in good form ahead of shooting and she violated that.”

Separate news said Heard had been replaced by Star Wars actor Emilia Clarke.
It turns out that The Rolling Stones rock star was rather taken by Depp’s clothing.
Jerry continued: “[Keith would] go into Johnny’s closet and try on his jackets and then he’d leave wearing Johnny’s jacket!”
