Mitt Romney. Speaking Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” the Utah Republican said the action attributed to Russia “demands a response, and the response you’d expect to occur would be a cyber response.” It’s unclear, though, if the U.S. has the capacity to do that in a way that would be of the same scale, he said.

20 Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) enterprise announced the launch of its third prize challenge in the Artificial Intelligence Applications to Autonomous Cybersecurity (AI ATAC) Challenge series, with the submission timeframe opening December 10. The prize challenge, managed by Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (PEO C4I) and Space Systems’ Cybersecurity Program Office (PMW 130), seeks to enhance the Security Operations Center (SOC) using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) tools to automate the detection and prevention of advanced persistent threats and other cybersecurity campaign activity. U.S. Air Force Lockheed Martin Corp., Fort Worth, Texas, has been awarded a ceiling $900,000,000 firm-fixed-price, time-and-materials, over-and-above, cost-reimbursement contract to stand up a continental U.S.-based contractor facility to perform depot-level maintenance and aircraft modification services in support of the F-16 aircraft.  Support will include all aircraft modifications, unplanned drop-in maintenance, time compliance technical orders, scheduled inspections and contract field team support.  This award is the result of a competitive acquisition and four offers were received.  Fiscal 2021 operation and maintenance funds in the amount of $1,402,952 are being obligated at the time of award.  The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Hill Air Force Base, Utah, is the contracting activity (FA8232-21-D-0005).

Booz Allen Communications System Prototype Approved for Production and Integration The Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) recently hit a significant milestone and transitioned the first wave of Information Warfare Research Project (IWRP) Other Transaction Authority (OTA) prototypes into production through an Other Transaction Production (OTP) award using 10 U.S.C. 2371b(f) Authority. As part of this process, which provides an accelerated pathway to rapidly test and put critical technology in the hands of our nation s warfighters, Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) was awarded an OTP to deliver next-generation communications solutions to United States Marine Corps (USMC) sites. This not only marks one of NAVWAR s first prototype OTAs transitioned to OTP, but this is also the first time Booz Allen has successfully transitioned one of the firm s government-awarded prototype projects into production, representing important milestones for Booz Allen and NAVWAR.
