Rachael Allen Is the First Autonomous Tugboat Set to Operate in U S Waters

Made by Foss Maritime, the Rachael Allen tugboat has recently been constructed and will be unveiled by the end of this month. 1 photo When it’s delivered, Rachael Allen will probably look like a regular harbor tug with a 90-ton bollard pull. But, what’s special about the Seattle-based company’s new boat is that it will feature an autonomous system, making it a premiere for the tug industry. It’s also a premiere for Sea Machines, who is installing the SM300 on a boat that’s over 5,000 hp, for the first time.

Damen Yichang Shipyard in China launches crane barge into water

06 May 2021 (Last Updated May 6th, 2021 12:29) Damen Yichang Shipyard in China has floated the 75m by 32m Crane Barge 7532, which is being built for a Panamanian client, into the water. The launch event was scheduled with the season, to guarantee the correct water depth needed for performing the launch successfully. The shipyard will now make the final arrangements for the upcoming journey of the Crane Barge 7532 to the Chinese yard of Huisman, in Fujian Province. Heavy construction equipment manufacturer Huisman is currently constructing the crane for the vessel.
