April 23 (UPI) An all-female platoon of U.S. Marine recruits completed training this week, making them the first women to graduate from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego.
While official ceremonies remain, Platoon 3241, one of six in a company of otherwise all-male recruits experiencing the 13-week boot camp, on Thursday completed a grueling three-day final exercise this week known as the Crucible.

April 15 (UPI) Four all-male platoons have graduated from boot camp at a historically all-female training battalion, according to the U.S. Marine Corps.
In a press release issued Wednesday, the Marine Corps said the March 26 graduation marked the first time male recruits have completed training at Papa Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, at South Carolina s Parris Island.

The men graduated alongside two all-female platoons.

Four male platoons graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in South Carolina as part of a battalion that until now has trained only women.
Papa Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, completed boot camp with four male and two female platoons, the Marine Corps announced Wednesday. Coed companies have been training at Parris Island since 2019, but this was the first time men have been assigned to 4th Recruit Training Battalion.
