Seven arrested for cloning electricity pre-paid metres

January 19, 2021 The Northwest zonal office of the Special Investigation and Prosecution Taskforce on Electricity Offences have announced the arrest of seven suspects in connection with pre-paid metre cloning, theft, metre vandalism and other related offences in Kaduna State and its environs. The Zonal Head of the Task Force, ASP Aliyu Bamalli, who paraded the suspects in Kaduna, also disclosed that two other suspects were still at large and that they were being trailed by his men. Bamalli noted that the arrests followed consistent reports by Kaduna Electric of energy theft, vandalism which had over the years hampered effective service delivery to electricity consumers in the state.

Ogun tanker explosion: FRSC confirms death of 3 persons

Daily Post Nigeria Published The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that three persons died while several others were injured on Tuesday when a petrol tanker exploded on IBB Boulevard in Abeokuta. Mr Ahmed Umar, the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, who confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta, said that five vehicles and two motorcycles were burnt in the incident. “The cause of the accident is still under investigation, we have to conduct a thorough investigation. “It was an accident involving a tanker loaded with premium motor spirit. It fell and caught fire, affecting other vehicles.
