A High Court in Kaduna presided over by Justice Hannatu Balogun on January 21 restrained Governor Nasir El-Rufai and agencies of the Kaduna State Government from demolishing and taking over of Durbar hotel Plc.
Daily Trust recalls that the governor had in a letter dated December 31, 2019, and addressed to Alhaji Mohamed Abacha revoked the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) belonging to the disputed Durbar Hotel, located along the Gen. Muhammadu Buhari/Independence Way, Kaduna.
The lawyer to the Abacha’s family, Dr Reuben Atabo, told journalists on Wednesday in Kaduna that the governor is alleged to have concluded plans to turn the hotel land into a public garden and relaxation spot.

The Kaduna State Government has given 7 days quit notice to occupants of the old Panteka market situated near the main campus of Kaduna Polytechnic which has being in existence for over 60 years.
The government warned the occupants to leave in 7 days or lose their properties .
The Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Agency, (KASUPDA) issued the 7 days quit notice to occupants starting from Friday.

The Gbagyi Villa Property Owners Association has appealed to Governor Nasir El-Rufai to direct the Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) to regularize their tittle documents.
The call was made following a High Court judgement presided over by Justice Hannatu Balogun which ruled in favour of the Gbagyi Villa community.
ASP Alfa Yahaya who led the operation that informed the arrest of five suspects told the court that they visited the location purportedly for the sex party with two Hilux vehicles and eight personnel of operation Yaki who were armed, while the second witness Corporal Ibrahim Adamu who was part of the operation confessed that they visited the restaurant with three Hilux vehicles and 15 armed personnel.
According to ASP Yahaya, ” When we got there, we saw crowd of people more than 50 not observing social distancing, not wearing face masks, no provision of hand sanitizers with many of them half naked, drinking and playing loud music who jumped the fence when they sighted the presence of police, we arrested the organizer and the two DJ’s and took them to our station.
