RUNCORN Shopping City Management Team have been busy boosting the morale of the retail staff within the centre during this third national lockdown, by hand delivering tea, coffee and biscuits to get them through the day. Centre Manager, Dave Pearman said, “We can all see how hard everyone is working, during these difficult times and we wanted the retail staff to see how much they are appreciated. So I thought this simple gesture might just give them a much needed boost. They are all doing an amazing job.” One customer advisor said “It is hard for everyone working in retail at the moment, especially as we are in our third lockdown, so when the Shopping City staff came around with drinks and snacks it made our day! It’s little gestures like this that make all the difference.”

Alan McCormick, of Bridgeway West in Windmill Hill, has been committing offences in Halton since 1999. The 40-year-old has been convicted of 29 theft-related offences, the latest of which saw him steal items worth a total of £122 from Runcorn Shopping City’s Wilko store on November 4. In a bid to deter McCormick from committing further shoplifting offences, Halton’s Problem Solving team applied for a three-year criminal behaviour order (CBO). The banning order was imposed on McCormick by Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Monday. It prohibits him from entering eight stores in Runcorn – Wilko at Shopping City; Co-op in Windmill Hill, Balfour Street, Halton Road, Grangeway, Murdishaw and Granville Street; and Asda in West Lane
Dominic Lyons A PERSISTENT thief has been banned from nearly every shop in Runcorn. Dominic Lyons was already banned from the Asda supermarket and three Co-op stores in the town following a series of convictions. Now he has been banned from all but two shops after another spate of offences. The 26-year-old was originally handed a criminal behaviour order lasting five years at Warrington Magistrates Court in April 2019. But Lyons, of Fenwick Lane, has continued to steal from shops and was convicted of three more offences at the same court on Tuesday, January 12. He stole meat and chocolate worth a total of £218 from the Aldi supermarket on Trident Retail Park and the Co-ops on Grangeway and Halton Road between Saturday, December 19, and Friday, January 8.
