Is Russia ready to recognise People s Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk?

If chief propagandists of the nation get involved in something, one should pay closer attention to that. It goes about the Russian Donbass forum that takes place in Donetsk. The participants of the forum promulgated the doctrine of the People s Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk. The doctrine stated the statehood of the republics should be strengthened as Russian nation-states, plus the two unrecognised republics should be returned to the sphere of the Russian historical space. The chairman of the Union of Journalists of Russia, Vladimir Solovyov, who is known to be Russia s chief patriot, sent a welcoming message to the participants of the forum. RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan took part in the forum and made an emotional speech.

Hundreds arrested in anti-government protests in Moscow

HUNDREDS were arrested in anti-government protests in Moscow today as authorities clamped down harshly on protesters under the guise of coronavirus restrictions. Riot police shut down metro stations and blocked off streets in a bid to prevent a repeat of the previous weekend’s protests. Thousands voiced anger at the Russian president, chanting “Putin is a thief,” as discontent with the Kremlin has seen some of the biggest street demonstrations in years, in part sparked by  the treatment of opposition figure Alexei Navalny, who has been jailed on corruption charges after his return to Moscow earlier this month. While supporters of Mr Navalny took part in the protests, those on the streets included communists who oppose the Islamophobic and nationalist views of the wealthy businessman.

Nguyen Phu Trong re-elected leader as 13th Communist Party of Vietnam Congress draws to an end

VIETNAMESE President Nguyen Phu Trong has been re-elected leader of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), as a week of debate comes to an end in Hanoi on Monday. The party’s 13th congress is ending a day ahead of schedule, having made swift headway on an adjusted agenda during the week. Mr Trong’s re-election for an unprecedented third term as party leader at the five-yearly congress was widely expected, as Vietnam looks to consolidate on its economic success and its handling of the coronavirus pandemic. A total of 1,587 delegates attended the meeting,  representing some 5.1 million members, elected at a series of meetings held in each of Vietnam’s 63 provinces. In turn, the delegates vote on the 200-member central committee.
