A teleconference was held on April 12 to inform the results of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) to the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The event was co-chaired by head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung and head of the CPC’s International Liaison Department Song Tao.
Trung thanked the CPC’s Central Committee, Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders, agencies and organisations for sending congratulations on the success of the Congress and the re-election of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

In his opening remarks, PM Phuc said the meeting
followed the successful organisation of the 13th National Party Congress, which
adopted many important documents of the Party, creating the foundation for
further national development in the time ahead.
Talking about new COVID-19 outbreaks, he noted
271 locally-infected cases have been recorded in 10 provinces and cities nationwide
The Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission has proposed that the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat expel Tat Thanh Cang, who once served as a member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, from the Party, according to a statement released by the commission on March 22.
