Green card: Indian-American healthcare workers hold protest at US Capitol

Urging American lawmakers to pass a legislation that ends the archaic per country quota for legal permanent residency in the US, a group of frontline Indian-American healthcare professionals, stuck in the 150-plus-year Green Card backlog, held a peaceful demonstration in front of the Capitol. A Green Card, known officially as a Permanent Resident Card, is a document issued to immigrants to the US as evidence that the bearer has been granted the privilege of residing permanently in the country. In a joint statement on Monday, the Indian-American doctors said that they are in a 150-plus-year Green Card backlog due to archaic country caps that allows no nation to get more than seven per cent of employment-based green cards.

Kenya Deports American Who Fled There After Capitol Attack

The arrogance of white people never ceases to amaze me. You’d think I’d be over it by now, after seeing people who are charged with violently attacking the U.S. government in the name of Trump and white supremacy get permission to vacation in Mexico and the privilege of being served organic food in jail on the basis of their appropriation of indigenous religious practices. Advertisement But I confess to still being taken aback by CNBC’s report that one of the suspected Capitol insurrectionists, 32-year-old Isaac Sturgeon, flew all the way to Kenya after allegedly participating in the Jan. 6 white supremacist mob attack right here in the USA.

Newsmax Host Falsely Claims 1 Person Died, 20 People Born At Capitol Riots

WEST PALM BEACH, FL In a broadcast rife with factual errors and inconsistencies, Newsmax TV host Greg Kelly falsely claimed Wednesday that one person died and 20 people were born at the Capitol riots. “The mainstream media wants to paint what happened at the Capitol building as some kind of bloody insurrection, but what they won’t tell you is that nearly two dozen bouncing boys and girls were born that beautiful day,” said Kelly, who drew fire from journalists and fact-checkers for stating that 20 strong, healthy children were born in the Capitol rotunda and through broken windows following a rally held by former President Donald Trump. “These are truly miracle babies, but you won’t see these cherub faces on CNN. Sure, you’ll see plenty of angry protesters on MSNBC, but you won’t see footage of these precious babes taking their first breaths in Nancy Pelosi’s office. Not even Fox News will show you the photos of these adorable infants all swaddled together in a MAGA fla

US Senate panels call former Capitol Police chief to testify

The Senate has announced its first hearings to examine the January 6 siege of the Capitol, calling in the former chief of Capitol Police and the former heads of security for the House and Senate, all three of whom resigned immediately after the attack. Two Senate committees will meet next week to begin a broad examination of the security failures that led to the vast breach, in which five people died. In addition to the February 23 hearing, the two committees are pressing for information from almost two dozen agencies and departments about the response. The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and the Senate Rules Committee announced Tuesday that they had invited former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund, former Senate Sergeant at Arms Michael Stenger and former House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving to the hearing, along with Robert Contee, the chief of the Metropolitan Police Department.
