David A. Letner
A Somerset man initially accused of drug trafficking has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to heroin possession and bail jumping.
David Allen Letner, 35, was sentenced July 12 to two years for first-degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (first offense, heroin) to be served consecutively with a one-year sentence for first-degree Bail Jumping.
The charges stem from a March 6 traffic stop conducted by Pulaski County Deputy Sheriff Trent Massey on West Ky. 914. According to his arrest citation, a registration check of Letner s 2008 Hyundai Tiburon indicated that Letner s license was suspended. Upon making contact with him, Dep. Massey reported Letner had glassy, bloodshot eyes and was sweating profusely.

Thirty-seven states have already decriminalized the substance, and 18 of those states have fully legalized it. In a retweet of a NY Times story about the bill on his personal account, Booker called it a historic day. “We have never had this level of support to finally end the federal prohibition of marijuana and enact restorative justice,” Booker said.
Dr. David Nathan is a Princeton-based psychiatrist and educator. He is also the founder and board president of Doctors for Cannabis Regulation, the first and only national physicians’ organization dedicated to the legalization and regulation of cannabis in the United States. And it all started here in New Jersey when Dr. Nathan was asked to join the coalition called New Jersey United for Marijuana Reform. Dr. Nathan called me on New Jersey 101.5 to weigh in.
Affidavit sheds new light on attempted ATM theft arrest
According to the report:
Around 5 a.m. Tuesday, a Wichita Falls police officer was driving on Kell Freeway passing Kemp Boulevard when he saw a black Ford F-250 truck backed up to the First Capital Bank of Texas ATM.
The officer noted, “Due to recent ATM burglaries and the position of the F-250, I believed this was a theft of an ATM in progress.”
The officer drove through the grass and onto Kell East Boulevard for further investigation.
The F-250 drove away without the lights off, so the officer tried to make a traffic stop. The truck continued to drive across the Wells Fargo parking lot, striking multiple curbs as it continued. The pickup drove onto Judson Circle and turned onto Glenwood Avenue and back to Judson Circle at a high rate of speed. The truck accelerated and drove up over a curb, coming to a stop at a wooden fence behind the Cinemark theaters.
