Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman, has six colleges, offering 26 accredited programmes for students of more than 86 nationalities.
The undergraduate programmes offered by GMU include medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, biomedical sciences, healthcare management and economics, anaesthesia technology, medical laboratory sciences, physiotherapy, medical imaging sciences and associate degree in preclinical sciences.
Graduate programmes are offered in public health, physical therapy, endodontology, periodontics, clinical pharmacy, drug discovery development, healthcare management and economics, health professions education and medical laboratory sciences.

Awareness sessions benefit over 100,000 professionals and residents.
In support of the UAE government’s fight against Covid-19, the Thumbay Group has conducted several educational and healthcare awareness programmes during the last 10 months.
They have benefited more than 100,000 professionals and the general public. The strategy combined technology utilisation, safety precautions, awareness programmes, training and confidence-building.
In addition, the group offered discounted treatments, diagnostic tests and pharmacy essentials.

Thumbay Medicity, a regional hub of medical education, healthcare and research built by Thumbay Group, recently hosted a team of 50 PG students from the S P Jain School of Global Management who are pursuing the Global Family Managed Business Programme in India.
They visited Thumbay Medicity and toured Gulf Medical University, Thumbay Dental Hospital, Thumbay Rehab Hospital and Thumbay University Hospital at the Thumbay Medicity as a part of their field visit.
Chancellor Prof. Hossam Hamdy hosted a discourse and presentation, while the students had the privilege to meet Dr Thumbay Moideen, founder-president of Thumbay Group, and have a one-on-one discussion about his journey, along with leadership insights on becoming a successful entrepreneur.
The boy needed the surgery after suffering a gunshot.
The doctors used the 3D printing technology to carry out the complex surgical procedure which saved the nine year old’s right leg from amputation.
The boy’s family members disclosed that all the doctors consulted in Nigeria and UAE said the boy’s right leg needed to be amputated after he sustained a severe injury from a gunshot wound in Nigeria. x
This left his parents traumatised and they eventually reached out to Dr Faisal Ameer, the head of plastic and reconstructive Surgery at Thumbay University Hospital, Ajman, who assured them of a successful surgery.
