Eight Bedford High School students qualified for the National Technology Student Association Conference, which will be held virtually this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The high school program has earned multiple national championships for different events in the annual competition in recent years, and is looking to bounce back after last yearâs event was canceled due to COVID-19.
Doug Pauley, technology education teacher and adviser for the team, said the number of students participating in the program dropped this year due to distanced learning that has been in place for much of the school year.
âThe numbers are down,â he said. âWe normally have between 40 and 50 students. We had nine compete this year.â
