Cash disbursement to affectees of 2020 rains to be done via mobile banking

The Sindh cabinet approved a relief grant of over Rs4 billion on Tuesday for those who sustained losses during the 2020 monsoon rains. The cash is to be disbursed among the affectees through the mobile banking system.
Besides, the cabinet approved the establishment of an anti-encroachment police station in Tharparkar district and a proposal for universalised social security system in the province, and set up committees to review the recruitment policy for teaching and non-teaching staff and to review a proposal by the agricultural department seeking its own works unit .

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid on Friday said he predicts participation of political parties of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in the Senate elections, otherwise they would be wiped out of politics.
Talking to the media at the National Database Regularity Authority (Nadra) Headquarters in Islamabad, he said it seems that the PDM would take part in the coming Senate elections, otherwise the PTI led by Imran Khan would gain strength in the Upper House. Legislation against those involved in money-laundering and corruption would be made stronger- if they stay away from the Senate elections.
The interior minister said the Senate elections could be held from February 12 to March 12 as per the Constitution and the PTI would gain majority in the Upper House. Prime Minister Imran Khan is going nowhere and the government under his leadership would complete its five-year constitutional tenure.
NADRA to issue first CNIC free of cost within 15 days

National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) will issue the first Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) free of cost within fifteen days, instead of forty days.
This was stated by Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad while talking to media at NADRA Headquarters in Islamabad on Friday.
He said fifty new NADRA centers will be opened across the country to serve the general public. He said offices of passport and ID cards will be opened in all the embassies of Pakistan, which will be supervised by NADRA and supported by the Foreign Office.
