10 new cases of COVID-19 in Galway, 390 nationally and 4 deaths this month

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of 11 additional deaths related to COVID-19.
Of the deaths notified today, 4 occurred in April, 2 in March, 4 in February and 1 in January.
The median age of those who died was 83 years and the age range was 50-93 years.
There has been a total of 4,847 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.
As of midnight, Monday 19
th April, the HPSC has been notified of 390 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
There has now been a total of 244,297 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland.
Statement from the National Public Health Emergency Team
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of no additional deaths related to COVID-19.
There has been a total of 4,836 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.
As of midnight, Sunday 18th April, the HPSC has been notified of 403 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
There has now been a total of 243,911 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland.
Of the cases notified today:
208 are men / 192 are women
73% are under 45 years of age
The median age is 31 years old
174 in Dublin, 34 in Meath, 20 in Kildare, 18 in Mayo, 16 in Cork and the remaining 141 cases are spread across 20 other counties
403 new cases of Covid 19 have been confirmed in the Republic today, with no additional Covid related deaths reported.
There were 11 new cases in Donegal, which now has a 14 day incidence rate of 204.2 cases per 100,000 people, compared to a national figure of 115. That s the highest incidence rate in the country.
79 new cases of Covid 19 have been confirmed north of the border today, with no additional Covid related deaths.

420 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed this evening and 11 additional deaths.
8 of the new cases were in Waterford, bringing the county’s 14-day incidence rate up slightly to 72.3 cases per 100,000 people.
The national incidence rate is 119.
190 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 53 are in ICU.
