Humbled by this Honour - Professor Charmaine Gauci

Anyone can agree that if there was anyone who deserved to be recognised by the State of Malta in the latest Republic Day honours, it is definitely the Superintendent of Public Health, Professor Charmaine Gauci, or as we like to call her “Ix-Charmaine Nazzjonali.” We all watched as the President George Vella read the citation last Sunday, and Prof Gauci put on the nation’s most coveted medal.     Late last night, on her Facebook profile, Prof Gauci said that she was truly humbled by the honour. “I dedicate this award to the public health COVID-19 team, all healthcare workers, front liners, our families and all the patients,” Professor Gauci wrote, adding that all those involved “have grown together to be stronger in fighting this pandemic.”
