Rangers fans outside the ground before the Scottish Premiership match at Ibrox Stadium THOUSANDS of Rangers fans have arrived at Ibrox despite Covid restrictions, setting off blue and red flares ahead of the team collecting their first Scottish Premiership trophy in a decade. Fans cheered and chanted as players left the team bus before their home game against Aberdeen as Police Scotland called on them to “disperse and take personal responsibility and use Greater Glasgow safely and respectfully”. After the trophy is lifted, hundreds of fans are expected to march into the heart of Glasgow, with the Union Bears fan group announcing plans to walk from the stadium to George Square.
Rangers fans have started to gather outside of Ibrox ahead of their match against Aberdeen. The Scottish champions will be presented with the Premiership trophy at the end of their match, with fans gathering to celebrate despite Covid restrictions in Scotland. It will be the first time the club has lifted the trophy in a decade. Earlier this week, fans of Steven Gerrard s side were told not to gather and follow guidance. It comes as Glasgow along with Moray would remain in level 3 following a surge of Covid cases. It is believed that the Indian variant is linked to the Glasgow spike.
