âFrom an economy of scale standpoint, I just donât think weâre going to be able to provide the virtual learning platform without really disrupting the face-to-face environment as a modality of instruction,â Craft said during Tuesdayâs workshop meeting.
During a registration drive in March, the district gauged interest in virtual learning for the 2021-2022 school year. The district received 855 requests for virtual learning out of the 18,000 students eligible to participate in the virtual platform, Craft said.

A total of eight calendar days were adjusted during Tuesdayâs board meeting. âEarly Outâ dates Feb. 26, March 5, March 12, April 16, and April 30 will now be regular school days, according to the updated calendar.
April 2, originally Good Friday holiday, will now be a remote learning day for students and a planning day for teachers. March 22 and April 12, originally scheduled to be teacher planning days, will now be remote learning days for students as well.
