46 REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. Twenty-two employees across the Army Materiel Command enterprise are receiving recognition for missions they accomplished in the fourth quarter of 2020 and the first quarter of 2021. The employees, including logistics management specialists, contracting officers and program analysts, received AMC’s Employee of the Quarter honors for their work going above and beyond to meet deadlines and exceed expectations. They represent AMC’s “best of the best” employees across the world. “Our workforce is the foundation of all we do at Army Materiel Command,” said Maj. Gen. Bob Harter, AMC’s chief of staff. “The Employee of the Quarter awards allow us to recognize the outstanding contributions and impactful performance of those who have gone above and beyond. These great leaders set the example for others to follow.”

The expansion adds new destinations and new hotels to popular regions already in the portfolio, with more than 180 new properties ranging from luxury spa resorts to family-friendly vacation rentals to budget-conscious hotels. “As more Americans get vaccinated, we are seeing a surge in bookings for 2021 vacations from Memorial Day to beyond Labor Day and through the festive season,” said Jack E. Mill Valley Korea and Vietnam veterans highlighted

This past March the students conducted interviews of World War II veterans James Kloos and Ray Lawson. This month they are making videos of Vietnam veteran John Newsom; and Korean War veteran Richard Dagitz. The veteran project is part of Marquette’s Computers II class where students learn about different types of multi-media. Some of the topics the class covers are photos and photo editing, desktop publications such as brochures and programs, video taking and movie creation, in addition to audio editing for putting together podcasts or radio commercials. Roper will become the first African American to achieve the rank of U.S Army Reserve lieutenant general. Maj. Gen. Roper’s upcoming promotion, announced last week, will put him as deputy commander of the United States Northern Command, United States Element, North American Aerospace Defense Command at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado. In his new role, Roper will help lead U.S. Northern Command in anticipating, preparing and responding to threats against North America and within Northern Command’s assigned area of responsibility; and provide oversight of U.S. Northern Command’s Defense Support to Civil Authorities.
