KUALA LUMPUR: Anyone who has received full doses of Covid-19 vaccines authorised by member countries are allowed entry, says the European Union (EU).
The clarification came following reports that the EU Digital Covid Certificate only recognised vaccines approved by the bloc.
It added that member states have also lifted travel restrictions on those who received Covid-19 vaccines that are yet to be approved by the EU, as long as the manufacturers have gone through the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Emergency Use Listing process.
“Entry to the EU is, in principle, allowed for fully vaccinated persons with one of the vaccines authorised in the EU, including those produced in facilities not covered by marketing authorisation in the EU.

COMMENT | Vaccine equity - that s the new buzzword I m hearing during the current Covid-19 crisis. What exactly are we talking about here? In early January 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) issued a call to all countries to work together in solidarity and bring an end to the Covid crisis. Equal access to the vaccine for all.
In a perfect world, this would be the perfect call to action. It is at the heart of WHO s campaign for #VaccinEquity and nearly 1500 organisations around the world signed the #VaccinEquity Declaration. This sounds good, or does it?
KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has expressed his appreciation to the United States for donating one million doses of Pfizer vaccine to help boost the vaccination process under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, through Istana Negara’s official Facebook account, said His Majesty also thanked US Ambassador to Malaysia Brian McFeeters for the contribution.
“This contribution clearly demonstrates the friendship and good relations that have been established for a long time between the governments and the people of both countries.
“Hopefully, the contribution of the vaccine will help the country in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and intensify the programme,” said His Majesty.
