12:00: Khairy announces that registration for AstraZeneca vaccine is now open, adds that any bookings received before 12pm were not recorded
Confusion ensues as many complain about not seeing the grid listing vaccination centres and appointment dates.
12.15pm: Registration site properly displays lists of vaccination centres and appointment dates.
12.30pm: Registrations pour in as people start selecting their preferred date and venue.
PETALING JAYA: Opt-in bookings for the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine will open from today, says Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin (pic).
“As previously announced, the Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee is offering an opt-in choice for people who want to take the AstraZeneca vaccine.
“Bookings will be opened at noon on May 2 at vaksincovid.gov.my.
“You need to already be registered with MySejatera and simply need to pick a PPV and date, ” he tweeted yesterday.
The coordinating minister of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme had explained previously that those interested would only need to make an appointment for logistic purposes as it involves special vaccination centres (PPVs).

KUALA LUMPUR, May 2 Within seconds of the application for the AstraZeneca vaccine opening at noon today, the slots disappeared.
Either they have all been taken up or a technical glitch is preventing people in the Klang Valley and Selangor from submitting their applications.
At the time of writing, social media is rife with shared complaints of frustrated efforts to get the vaccine which is on a parallel track but not part of the main national vaccination programme.
PETALING JAYA: The AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine registration kicked off at noon on Sunday (May 2 to a rocky start.
Within seconds, social media users were voicing complaints - saying that the schedule which was supposed to appear, had gone missing.
@MariaYusop tagged Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin on Twitter to ask him about the matter, asking @Khairykj we unable to choose the venue and date since 1159hrs - what happen? (sic).
By 12.10pm, over 100 tweets echoing Maria’s question had surfaced on Twitter.
However, while many were still complaining about errors on the website, stories of successful registrations began trickling in by 12.15pm.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 2 Malaysia is expected to receive another million doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine this month after the vaccine’s voluntary application went live earlier today.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin however did not specify the exact date of its scheduled arrival but said the incoming shipment was via Covid-19 Vaccines Global Access or Covax.
“We are scheduled to receive a million more doses this month via Covax. We will expand the opt-in in other states (except Sarawak which has declined) and ensure those without access to internet etc can also sign up,” he said in a Twitter posting.
