United Way of Douglas and Pope Counties is teaming up with Discovery Middle School for the annual Day of Caring.
This year, the event will take place over two days – Thursday, May 20 and Friday, May 21.
During that time, more than 350 Discovery Middle School eighth-grade students will head out into the community to complete outdoor service projects.

WEST FARGO Vincent Williams has accepted the position as secondary assistant superintendent for West Fargo Public Schools.
Williams will replace Allen Burgad, who will retire at the end of this school year.
Williams began his career in education as a high school social studies teacher at Fargo North High School in 2004.
During the 2014–2015 school year, he served as the assistant principal intern at Kennedy Elementary School in Fargo, followed by a year as the assistant principal intern at Fargo’s Lincoln Elementary School. In 2016, he accepted the position as the assistant principal and English learner coordinator at Woodrow Wilson High School. He was the principal at Fargo’s Discovery Middle School from 2017–2020 before being named principal at Sheyenne High School in 2020.

(Fargo, ND) Fargo Public Schools have announced that Daniel Shultis will take over as the assistant principal and activities coordinator of North High School beginning on July 1st. He will assume the position from Travis Christensen, who will become the principal of North High School on the same day when current Principal Andrew Dahlen retires.
Shultis has been the assistant principal and activities coordinator for Discovery Middle School since 2016 and has served as a Virtual Academy administrator during the 2020-21 school year. He served as the dean of students for the Fargo Public Schools Summer School program from 2015 to 2016. From 2002 to 2016, Shultis was a physical education teacher and sports coach at North High.
