Discovery Networks is now looking to recruit a Senior Social Media Manager to the Nordic Marketing department.
The role will be responsible for the overall Nordic social strategy and ambition, KPI´s and goals for all organic social media in owned and operated sites. The role will be working closely with the Nordic marketing leads to create a strong social media presence across the Nordics to enhance engagement, interest and views.
The Nordic Senior Social Media Manager will report to VP Nordic Marketing.

MONTREAL, Canada & FRESNO, Calif. With the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide on April 24, a pair of moving, personal documentaries shed light on the lasting trauma, coming soon to PBS stations in Montreal and Fresno. These wounds were reopened by the recent war between Azerbaijan, backed by Turkey, and the Armenians in the contested region of Nagorno-Karabakh, also known as Artsakh.
“100 Years from Home,” produced by Lilit Pilikian and directed by Jared White, airs on Montreal’s Mountain Lake PBS on Sunday, April 18 at 5 p.m. ET. “What Will Become of Us,” directed by Stephanie Ayanian and Joseph Myers, follows directly after at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Extra Life: A Short History of Living Longer examines advances in public health
UK distributor Cineflix Rights has added a forthcoming PBS science series from London-based production outfit Nutopia to its sales slate.
Extra Life: A Short History of Living Longer (4×60’) examines some of the medical advances that have changed the face of public health, spanning 300 years of medical study.
This is the first collaboration between the two companies and forms part of Cineflix Rights’ springtime slate.
Nutopia was founded by Jane Root, former president of Discovery Networks and controller of UK channel BBC2. It is known for relaxation series A World of Calm and The World According to Jeff Goldblum.

Magellan’s Voyage Search for the Spice Islands, a documentary commemorating the first circumnavigation of the globe, has been licensed by ZDF Enterprises to the New York public broadcaster WNET.

Hornby: A Model World from Rare TV for Yesterday
The new UKTV Original series is an observational documentary following iconic British miniature model maker Hornby. Currently in production, the 10-part series (pictured) follows Hornby’s staff of engineers and model makers as well as collectors and model shop owners.

Hornby: A Model World is a nostalgic look at the modelling company, home to Hornby Railways as well as the Corgi, Airfix and Scalextric brands.
The UKTV Original series has been commissioned by senior commissioning editor Helen Nightingale and ordered by Yesterday channel director, Gerald Casey. The series is produced by Rare TV and the executive producer is Emma Barker. Flame Distribution handles worldwide sales outside UK and Eire.
